System
Soft water for every tap in your home.
Hard water damages appliances, dries out skin, and leaves white scale on every surface. A whole-home softener fixes all of it at the source.
Whole-home water softener for your home.
Omaha's municipal water is some of the hardest in the Midwest. It is loaded with calcium and magnesium minerals that scale pipes, shorten appliance life, and leave that filmy residue on glass shower doors and dishes. A whole-home water softener removes those minerals through a process called ion exchange before the water ever reaches your faucets, showerheads, or water heater.
Pure Water Co sources NSF-certified softener equipment exclusively through Honest Water Co and every installation is completed by a licensed plumber. That means the equipment is independently tested and verified, and the installation is done to code, not by a sales rep with a wrench. We serve homeowners in Omaha, Elkhorn, and across the metro.
Start with our free in-home water test. We measure your water's hardness level and total dissolved solids, then size the right system for your home's square footage, number of occupants, and water source. No assumptions, no oversized equipment, no pressure to buy on the spot.

FAQ
Whole-home water softener questions.
Omaha's municipal water typically runs between 14 and 17 grains per gallon (GPG), which is classified as very hard. That's enough to cause visible scale on fixtures and meaningfully shorten appliance life. Your actual level depends on your address, and our free water test gives you the exact number.
Yes, for most people. Ion-exchange softeners substitute a small amount of sodium for the calcium and magnesium they remove. If you are on a sodium-restricted diet or prefer to drink unsoftened water, we can add a bypass at the kitchen tap or pair the softener with an RO system for your drinking water.
A properly sized softener uses roughly 6 to 10 pounds of salt per regeneration cycle, typically running once every few days depending on water use. We size systems to regenerate only as needed, which keeps salt and water consumption low.
NSF International is an independent public health and safety organization. NSF/ANSI 44 certification means a softener has been independently tested to verify it actually reduces hardness as claimed and that the materials in contact with your drinking water are safe.
Most whole-home softener installs are completed in two to four hours by our licensed plumber. Your water supply is briefly shut off during the connection, but there's no overnight disruption.
